Nina Alfaro, founder and lead trainer at Embark Dog Training in Nashville, brings over five years of hands-on experience to the table.
After attending the renowned Highland Canine School for Dog Trainers, Nina’s approach is grounded in balanced training methods that prioritize clarity, communication, and real-world results.
Specializing in behavior modification, puppy development, and off-leash obedience, Nina has worked with dogs of all breeds and temperaments, but her style was truly shaped by one: Toretto, her Belgian Malinois. Through him, she learned that structure, trust, and consistency aren’t just training principles—they’re a way of life.
Today, Nina works with clients across Middle Tennessee, helping families build stronger bonds with their dogs through personalized, practical programs designed to create lasting transformation.

Karma, Head Trainer at Embark Dog Training, brings a powerful combination of natural instinct, discipline, and no-nonsense leadership to every session. Raised on a farm and deeply rooted in the world of horses and dogs, she developed a sharp eye for animal behavior and pack dynamics from an early age.
Karma specializes in guardian breeds like Cane Corsos and Small Breed dogs, blending balanced training, structure, and clarity to bring out the best in even the most challenging dogs. Her approach is rooted in firm but fair leadership—and her three Cane Corsos keep her grounded, honest, and sharp.
Over the past year and a half, Karma has built her expertise through hands-on training, in-home board and train immersion, and mentorship at Embark. Her ability to create breakthroughs with reactive, defensive, or misunderstood dogs makes her an invaluable part of the team.
She credits much of her growth to her own , Cane Corso, Sage whose intensity and intelligence redefined her understanding of leadership, patience, and purpose in dog training. As Karma says Sage is truly just a girls girl!
